DEMODECTIC MANGE - skin condition caused by demodex mite

Signs

Cause

Treatment

Localized - small hairless circular patches around muzzle or eyes, generalized mange (red mange) spreads to body and may become infected from scratching

Skin condition caused by burrowing mite (demodex foliculorum). Mite is passed to puppies at birth or when feeding - all dogs have the mite but a compromised immune system will allow the mites to flourish

Herbs (Neem) and homeopathy provide a non toxic approach - secondary skin infections must be treated by vet
